Class of 1955
Back to Main Page

I recently had occasion to borrow the1955 HCS Class Yearbook for a short period of time. Since the person I got it for doesn't seem to need it, I thought I'd scan a few things and put them up here for your enjoyment. It was an interesting class: In order, it lists the Board of Education, the Engineers, the Surveyors, Laborers and Apprentice Laborers. I'll leave it to you to figure out which means what .

My thanks to the Cougler family for their large library of available HCS Yearbooks.

Le'sseee, the school, which was built in 1954, was pictured in the Yearbook:

And there were pictures of 14 Seniors in the Yearbook. It is of interest to note that many school activities had over ten people participating; soccer, varsity, Track, Band, Chorus, et al. In fact, there were 13 people in the picture just for the Yearbook committee! THAT's participation!

I really enjoyed reading the Class Prophecy. Now, you see, this is exactly why I was so keenly afraid of the Class Prophecy in 1964 when I graduated: what IF it was right? Ah, actually that wouldn't have been so bad, I guess. I hope you guys enjoy it too. Below, in succession, are the Senior Class Pictures (the Laborers), and the School Prophecy exactly as written.

If you're still reading, and aren't bored out of your mind waiting for all that to load, here is the Class History page:

One other thing I was unable to resist was putting in a picture of the Class of '64 in '55. I guess we really haven't changed a lot: I was able to identify a lot more of my 1964 classmates from these pics of the third grade in the 1955 Yearbook. Woof!

Hokay, I'll quit now. I hope you've enjoyed these as much as I have putting them up on the site. I apologize for the huge filesizes but they are necessary in order to get the type-written text to be readable.

BULLDOGS FOREVER
